Common questions
What databases do you support?
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, and Supabase are all supported. Connect any PostgreSQL database — AWS RDS, Neon, Railway, Render, DigitalOcean, self-hosted, and more. MySQL and MS SQL Server connect via standard connection strings. More connectors coming — let us know what you need.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All connections are read-only by default — we block INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP, and ALTER at the gateway level. Your credentials are encrypted with AES-256 and only decrypted at request time. Every query is logged.
How does it work with Claude Desktop?
You paste your Synra endpoint URL into Claude Desktop via Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. No JSON config files, no .env setup. Claude can then query your database through our secure gateway.
Can Claude modify my database?
No. Synra only allows SELECT queries. Any attempt to run INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, or other write operations is blocked and logged.
Do you store my query results?
No. We log metadata (which tool was called, when, and response status) for your audit trail, but we never store the actual data returned from your database.
